# Security

Protect your SpaceKeep account with passwords, passkeys, and security settings.

## Passwords

You can change your password from Security settings. You will need your current password to set a new one.

> [!NOTE]
> If you signed up with an OAuth provider (GitHub, Google, or Discord) and never set a password, you can create one from Security settings.

## Passkeys

Passkeys let you sign in using your device's biometric authentication (fingerprint, face recognition, or device PIN) instead of a password.

### Adding a passkey

1. Go to Security settings.
2. Choose **Add Passkey**.
3. Follow your device's prompts to create a passkey.
4. Your passkey is now linked to your account.

### Signing in with a passkey

1. Go to [spacekeep.dev/login](https://spacekeep.dev/login).
2. Choose the **passkey** option.
3. Follow your device's prompts to authenticate.

> Passkeys are more secure than passwords and resistant to phishing. You can use them on any device that supports WebAuthn.
