# Settings

Settings live on one page at [jarvis.spacekeep.dev/settings](https://jarvis.spacekeep.dev/settings).
Changes save as you make them — there is no separate save button except for the display name.

Changes take effect immediately. You do not need to sign out and back in.

## General {#general}

| Field | Notes |
| --- | --- |
| Display name | Up to 64 characters. Shown across JARVIS and used as your avatar initial |

Enter the name and choose **Save**. The field confirms with *Saved* when it has persisted.

### Changing your name from a conversation

If you tell JARVIS what to call you, it recognises the statement and offers a confirmation notice —
for example:

```text
You: Call me Sam.
JARVIS: offers to update your display name to "Sam"
```

JARVIS never renames your account on its own. The name changes only when you confirm, and you can
also set it directly here. If you would rather not be asked, turn the prompt off — see below.

## Appearance {#appearance}

| Option | Effect |
| --- | --- |
| Light | Graphite light theme |
| Dark | Default obsidian theme |

The choice is remembered on the device you make it on and applied everywhere in JARVIS.

## Language {#language}

Controls which language JARVIS replies in.

| Option | Behaviour |
| --- | --- |
| Auto | Replies in whatever language you write in |
| English | Always replies in English |
| German | Always replies in German |
| Italian | Always replies in Italian |

**Auto** is the default and is what most people want. Set a specific language if you often write in
one language and want answers in another.

## Memory {#memory}

| Control | Effect |
| --- | --- |
| Memory **On** | New memories are saved and stored ones inform replies |
| Memory **Off** | No new memories are saved, and stored ones are not used in replies |

Switching memory off does **not** delete anything. Stored memories stay on the
[Memory page](https://jarvis.spacekeep.dev/memory) until you delete them, so you can switch off,
review, and clean up at your own pace.

**Manage memories** takes you there.

Asking JARVIS to forget a specific memory still works with memory off — removing data is never
blocked.

## Connections {#connections}

Shows which sign-in providers are linked to your JARVIS account.

| Provider | What JARVIS stores |
| --- | --- |
| Google | Whether it is linked — nothing else |
| GitHub | Whether it is linked — nothing else |

Each row reads **Connected** or **Not connected**. JARVIS keeps connection status only; no provider
token or credential is retained.

Accounts link automatically when you sign in with a matching verified email. If a provider shows
**Not connected**, sign in with it once using the same email address as your JARVIS account.

## Account {#account}

| Row | Notes |
| --- | --- |
| Email | Your account's email address |
| Sign out | Ends your session on this device |

Your email address is shown here for reference. Password changes are handled through
[Password & Recovery](/jarvis/account/password/), which sends a reset link to that address.

### Changing your email address

JARVIS does not currently offer email changes. Your address is fixed at sign-up, and it is the
address that receives password resets and account emails.
