# Troubleshooting

Solutions to common problems SpaceKeep users encounter.

## Authentication

### I cannot log in

- Make sure you are using the correct email and password
- If you signed up with an OAuth provider, use that provider to log in
- If you forgot your password, use the password reset option on the login page

### My passkey is not working

- Make sure you are on a device that supports your passkey
- Try using another sign-in method (password or OAuth)
- You can add a new passkey from Security settings

### OAuth sign-in fails

- Make sure you authorized SpaceKeep on the provider's page
- Check that your provider account is in good standing
- Try signing in with a different method

## GitHub

### GitHub connection failed

- Make sure you authorized SpaceKeep on GitHub
- Check that your GitHub account is in good standing
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting from [Connections settings](https://spacekeep.dev/settings/links)

### My repositories are not showing

- Make sure your GitHub account is connected
- Only public repositories are displayed
- Your top repositories are based on stars and forks

## Profile

### My profile changes are not appearing

- Make sure you saved your changes in settings
- Your profile may be cached — try refreshing the page
- Check that your profile is set to public in [Advanced settings](https://spacekeep.dev/settings/advanced)

### My profile is not showing in search

- Make sure your profile is set to public
- Check that you allowed search engines in [Advanced settings](https://spacekeep.dev/settings/advanced)
- It may take time for search engines to index your profile

## Assets

### My avatar or banner will not upload

- Check that your file is in a supported format (JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF)
- Make sure your file is under the size limit (5 MB for avatars, 10 MB for banners)
- Try a different image

### My image looks cropped

- Avatars are displayed as squares — use a square image for best results
- Banners are cropped differently on different screen sizes — keep important content centered
